Baby Reflexology: a holistic approach to supporting your baby’s wellbeing

A baby’s body is deeply interconnected, and it can be hard to tell what exactly has caused which imbalance or struggle. That is why we need to have a holistic approach and look at the bigger picture.

In Baby Reflexology, we treat the whole body, with a specific focus on areas that correspond to the symptoms your baby is experiencing. This holistic approach also considers factors like the breastfeeding mum’s diet, which can affect your baby’s wellbeing. At the end of each appointment, you’ll receive tips on how to best support your baby at home, including helpful positions and reflexology points.

Most common reasons parents seek Baby Reflexology support for their baby:

  1. Colic symptoms
Colic refers to a set of symptoms that cause excessive crying, irritability, and discomfort. While it is not a condition or disease, it is distressing for both baby and parents. Baby Reflexology can help alleviate the discomfort associated with colic and bring much-needed relief.

  2. Reflux symptoms
Frequent spitting up and discomfort after feeds are common signs of reflux in babies. Reflexology can assist in easing these symptoms and promoting comfort for your little one.

  3. Birth trauma, sleep struggles, excessive crying, and restlessness
These issues are often intertwined, with birth trauma affecting your baby’s physical and emotional state. Baby Reflexology helps relieve tension and discomfort, promoting deeper sleep and reducing excessive crying.

  4. Trouble with tummy time
Sometimes babies experience stiffness in their body that makes tummy time difficult. This stiffness can hinder your baby’s ability to lift their head or push up. Reflexology focuses on relieving this tension and promoting more comfortable tummy time.

  5. Latching and feeding difficulties
Latching issues are common in the early days of breastfeeding, but it’s important to note that most of the time the problem is not a faulty boob! Reflexology can help address any underlying issues that might be affecting the baby’s latch and feeding process.

  6. Stomach issues and constipation
Stomach discomfort, excessive gas, bloating, and constipation are common issues for babies. Reflexology helps ease these symptoms, and parents often notice the difference immediately after (or even during!) a treatment. Reflexology can assist in relieving tummy tightness, reducing irritability, and promoting easier digestion.
